The Taxi Council is a membership body funded primarily by membership fees. As the peak industry body the Taxi Council operates within the criteria set in its objectives. It is managed by a Committee but also has a “shop front” at the One Stop Shop. There are two full time staff to handle day to day business and a number of sub-committees (formed from the full committee) to manage the key objectives.
The Taxi Council manages the approval process for the lease and transfer of Taxi Licences. It assists with paper work for registration of vehicles as taxis and for taxi vehicle changeovers. It provides advice to Operators on leasing and transfers. The Taxi Council can also arrange for a Legal Contract to be written to cover the Lease arrangement.
Taxi Concierges The Taxi Council manages the Concierge program at taxi ranks in the CBD and at special events. More information on Taxi Concierges.
Adelaide Airport The Taxi Council manages the Taxi Driver Facilities at the Adelaide Airport. If you are a taxi driver and wish to comment regarding the facilities contact the Taxi Council on (08) 8293 6000.
Sales The Taxi Council sells a range of products such as Workbooks, Coin Holders and Street Directories used by the Taxi industry.
Unigas/Taxi Council LPG Card The LPG Card is available for taxi drivers and taxi operators. The card can be used when purchasing LPG at the Hindley Street depot. Unigas kindly sponsor a $100 fuel voucher for a random card user each month.
Advice The Taxi Council offers advice and assistance to all members of the taxi industry and to members of the public.
Sub-Committees A number of sub-committees have been formed to form policy and direction for the industry.
